Career Highlights

Joaquim is an economist with experience spanning macroeconomic research, banking, strategy, management consulting, and investment advisory. At Standard Bank, he is a member of the Africa Research team, covering Mozambique, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Before joining Standard Bank, Joaquim worked at KPMG, where he contributed to Mozambique's 10-year Public Finance Strategy and the Mozambique Stock Exchange Strategic Plan. He also worked at Pactum Advisors, Source Capital, and Source Energia, supporting corporate finance, infrastructure, renewable energy, and development projects. Joaquim holds a degree in Economics from Eduardo Mondlane University, complemented by training in econometrics, corporate finance, financial analysis, and forecasting.
