Over 16 years, Godfrey has provided research, guidance, and investment expertise to pan-African and global institutions across various asset classes, including fixed income, credit, currencies, and equities within the African capital markets.
He is currently serving as a Senior Economist at Standard Bank of South Africa in Johannesburg having previously had the role of Head of the African Investment Franchise at Absa Asset Management. Prior to that, he managed the Africa (ex-South Africa) Equities Fund at African Alliance. Before joining African Alliance, Godfrey honed his analytical skills at Enko Capital, a multi-strategy Africa-focused hedge fund based in Johannesburg. His career began in Zambia's corporate finance sector, where he made a significant impact by spearheading pioneering corporate transactions in the country.
A CFA Charterholder, Mr. Mwanza holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
