Fáusio has worked for Standard Bank for the past 20 years. Within Standard Bank’s Africa Research team, he is responsible for Angola and Mozambique. He became Chief Economist for Mozambique in 2011. He holds an MBA and Honours in economics. His last executive role was leading the bank´s credit division in Mozambique looking at both corporate and personal lending portfolios from 2008 to 2010. Before moving to credit, he helped setting up and managing a transactional banking unit for corporate banking in Mozambique. From 2005 to 2007 he was head of the investment banking division in Mozambique. He joined Standard Bank as financial analyst in investment banking in 2001. Before that, he worked for two year years in the Mozambican Central Bank markets division and started a PhD program in quantitative methods.
